The Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier is a pure breed terrier originating from Ireland. Wheatens are generally friendly and playful, and tend to get along well with children and other dogs. This soft-coated dog is highly intelligent and needs plenty of human interaction. The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier has a bit of a stubborn or independent streak, but this is usually quickly corrected with proper training and socialization. They are joyful, energetic and affectionate and never lose their love of play time. They are more friendly and easy going than other terrier breeds and generally get along well with other dogs.
