The Portuguese Podengo is an ancient multi-sensory hound breed of dog from Portugal. All Podengo types are hardy, intelligent and lively dogs, excelling at agility and making fine companions. The long-backed body is muscular, the tail tapered and sickle-shaped, and the coat either short and dense or long and wiry. Smart and versatile, Pequenos are athletes who can master any number of dog sports. Pequenos are a robustly healthy, long-lived breed and are said to be quick learners. Pequenos are also extremely brave for their size and are alert for any intrusions into their territory.
