The poodle is a group of formal dog breeds. The poodle is skillful in many dog sports and activities, including agility, obedience, tracking to herding, circus performers or assistance dogs. Standard Poodles are active and energetic, but they tend to be a bit more reserved than Miniature and Toy Poodles. Because of their larger size, Miniatures are better suited to small children than Toys. Originally used as an aid for duck hunters, the Poodle has become a circus performer, a frequent dog show winner, a guide dog, and a loving pet.
