The Dobermann Pinscher is a medium-large breed of domestic dog originally developed from Germany. Dobermanns are well known as intelligent, alert and tenaciously loyal companions and guard dogs. The Dobermann is driven, strong and sometimes stubborn. The body is sleek but substantial, and is covered with a glistening coat of black, blue, red, or fawn, with rust markings. The ideal Doberman is energetic, watchful, determined, alert and obedient, never shy or vicious. It is sensitive and very responsive to its owner’s wishes, though some can be domineering. It is generally reserved with strangers.
