The Briard is an ancient breed of large herding dog, originally from France. In addition to herding the dog also holds excellent watchdog instincts. The head is large and rectangular with high set ears covered with hair. It is independent, intelligent and self-assured, but it is also willing to please and eager to serve as a partner in adventure.
